¶“Don’t laminate it as you still may be adding to it with booster shot information,” she noted.

¶I learned that this week when I received my booster.

¶“Georgii Bazykin, a biologist at the Skolkovo Institute in Moscow who studied the epidemiology of the virus, says state media has pushed conspiracies questioning the efficacy of Western vaccines that undermine Russia’s own campaign....’It played a cruel joke on Russia’s vaccination efforts,’ says Bazykin, ‘a country that produces and exports a vaccine its own citizens refuse to take.”

¶Well this is interesting. Russia’s disinformation campaign against Western vaccines has produced unintended consequences at home — hesitancy by Russians to take the home frown Sputnik vaccine.

¶A star blinked 28 million light years away, suggesting a planet passed in front of it. Incredible.

¶The earth still has a lot to reveal. And exploration like this, into the previously unexplored depths of the ocean, will likely support applied research and innovation for decades to come.

¶“‘Systematic searches for new drugs have shown that marine invertebrates produce more antibiotic, anti-cancer, and anti-inflammatory substances than any group of terrestrial organisms,’ says the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.”

¶”…people hospitalized with coronavirus-like symptoms were more than five times more likely to test positive for COVID-19 if they had had recent prior infection than if they were recently vaccinated.”

¶Get your shots, even if you’ve had COVID.

¶Something tells me the postcard/sticker/hand writing system used in Toledo is incompatible with this new iOS feature. I’ll have to keep a picture of my vaccine card in my favorites album on my iPhone.

¶The vaccine “provides a broad defense against COVID-19 and ‘effectively neutralized the delta variant.’”

¶One step closer.

¶Wait, what’s this? A Republican politician speaking of respecting each other’s level of comfort during a pandemic…in Florida?

¶There is hope.

¶Dune Part II is a go, making it safe to watch Part I.

¶“Bloomberg says that the first of the Tesla Model 3s will be available to rent from Hertz in major US and European markets from early November. Renters will be able to use Tesla’s network of superchargers....”

¶This will be a force multiplier for Tesla and EV’s in general. I’ve driven a Model 3 for three years now, and have learned that people have a combination of hesitancy and curiosity about EV’s in general. But, once they actually drive that car — with its pep and the self driving features — they’re generally sold on the idea. Renting a Model 3 on a vacation (or even on a staycation) may be the best test drive Tesla could give potential customers.

¶The truth is, Trump’s new media/tech group violated the terms of the AGPLv3 software license when it launched a test version of its new social media platform.

¶Former Federal Circuit Chief Judge Michel is still fighting the good fight, now working to open people’s eyes to Big Tech’s assault on our patent system and to recruit people to the battle. I miss having him his voice on the bench, with his ardent support for the system as a whole. I think his voice is more valuable on the outside these days, though, writing things like this.
