¶Trump literally said this about allocating credit and blame for yet-to-be finalized performance of the slew of candidates he endorsed in races across the country:

¶There are so many quotes to be considered the Trumpiest quote of all. That one is at least in the discussion.

¶We succumbed to the pressure tonight and had Cane’s chicken for dinner. I waited for about an hour in the drive-through, which, actually, wasn’t that bad. Orderly at least. We were underwhelmed with the food. The fries are nothing short of horrible, and the chicken nothing special. There’s not much else on the menu (it really boils down to a question of how many strips you want; even the chicken sandwich is a few strips in a bun), so I doubt we’ll be heading back anytime soon. At least they built a nice looking restaurant.

¶Heading home after a great visit with Jonathan. We had some incredibly beautiful weather over the weekend and a wonderful time with Jonathan. Renee, Jake, and I stayed in our favorite Airbnb in Cambridge.

¶Fall has definitely arrived, and I can feel winter approaching. My body is somehow aware of the change without my mind giving it much thought—I reached for warmer clothes this morning while getting ready for work without even glancing at the forecast.
¶I also fired up my under-desk space heater as soon as I arrived at the office. Unlike the seemingly automatic reaching for a sweater, my decision to use the space heater was, most definitely, intentional.

¶I love being greeted by the sunrise over the Maumee River when I get into the office in the morning. This morning was twice as nice as I was finally able to view the livestream from the condo on my computer—our patio camera there is slowly (and surprisingly) coming back to life after Hurricane Ian.
¶This is truly a great way to start a day…and a week. Happy Monday!

¶Six years ago I snapped this picture of eleven-year-old Jake sitting in the cockpit after a vacation flight. At the time, I was clueless as to the significance of the moment, thinking it was only about getting those coveted plastic wings.
¶Yesterday, while driving from Tiffin to Fremont, I looked through the sunroof in my car and watched seventeen-year-old Jake fly directly over me while he made his first flight as a fully licensed pilot. He even gave me a wing-wave.
¶And now I fully appreciate that moment from six years ago - Jake was in awe of the Delta pilot then, and I am in awe of Jake now.
¶He’s officially a pilot, and that’s truly awesome. Congrats Jake! All of your hard work and dedication has paid off, and we’re all incredibly proud of you.

¶Big day for Jake - check flight for his private pilot license. I dropped him off at Fremont Airport and then made the twenty minute drove down to Tiffin, arriving just as Jake landed. I’ll hang out here for a few hours as he flies with the FAA pilot.
